Our Story
The Turks and Caicos Company was founded by Pamela Ewing, a Turks and Caicos hospitality and tourism professional whose connection to the islands began during her early years on North Caicos, one of the twin islands of North and Middle Caicos. Educated in hospitality management, Pamela spent many years working in the local and international hospitality industry, holding various management positions before establishing her own sales and marketing company.
In 2004, Pamela was asked to assist the Turks and Caicos government with opening tourism offices in the United States, specifically in New York City. She went on to spend approximately 15 years helping market and position Turks and Caicos as a premier luxury destination throughout the United States.
In 2020, Pamela became Director of Tourism for Turks and Caicos, making history as the first woman to hold the position. During her tenure, she was tasked with helping reopen the destination following its brief closure in 2020. By the summer of 2021, Turks and Caicos experienced what was then the busiest summer in the destination’s history.
Drawing on this extensive experience and her lifelong connection to the islands, Pamela founded The Turks and Caicos Company as a representation and lifestyle company built around a simple idea: travelers should be able to arrange their Turks and Caicos experience through one knowledgeable, locally connected resource rather than navigating multiple providers on their own.

A romantic getaway in Turks and Caicos is the perfect answer. With 350 days of sunshine a year, an average temperature of 83 degrees, stretches of white-sand beaches, and turquoise water, there’s no bad time of the year to visit. Even better – it’s only an hour and a half flight from Miami and an easy destination to reach. The islands also use the US dollar, it’s in the US Eastern Standard time zone, and everyone speaks English.
Turks and Caicos is a chain of 40 cays and islands. Visitors land on Provo, formally known as Providenciales. However, if you’re interested in visiting other islands, too, it’s easy to hire a boat or small plane. Provo is famous for its beaches and although you may be tempted to do nothing but lie in the sun all day, here are a few ideas for making this your most romantic getaway in Turks and Caicos ever!
Travel Tips
The Turks and Caicos Islands enjoy a dry and sunny tropical climate with temperatures averaging in the 80’s for highs and 70’s for lows. The islands typically receive 350 sunny days per year, so sunscreen is a necessity. Insect repellent will also be useful. Regarding attire, plan on casual chic swim wear for daytime and elegant casual summer wear for the evenings. If you opt for more adventurous excursions, be sure to pack attire that will allow you to be comfortable and fully enjoy your adventure.
This is not the place for a wild nightlife, but for romantic, quiet dinners. If you’re vacationing with a group of friends, try the Ocean Club Resort’s private sunset barbecue. Tiki torches surround candle-lit tables on the beach, as you watch the chef grill freshly caught lobster and quartered chicken. Another choice is a table for two in the outdoor lounge at Opus Wine Bar and Grill. Dine while feeling the ocean breeze and enjoying the view. Try the conch fritters!
Some of the best ways to explore the islands is by boat. Rent kayaks to see beaches, rock outcroppings, and colorful fish up close. Enjoy a picnic on the beach, then do some snorkeling. Or take a boat adventure to other secluded islands. If you prefer to stay out of the water, go for a horseback ride along the many quiet paths and beaches. Check out Long Bay Beach, too.
Transport yourself and your partner to a private tropical beach with no one else around for miles. Listen to the sound of the ocean waves as you enjoy a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine under a big umbrella with a table and chairs. A boat will drop you off on the north shore of Caicos Cays and return in six hours. What you do with your time is up to you!
Bond with a heart pumping activity. Dive or snorkel and explore the third largest barrier reef in the world. You’ll see lobsters, sharks, rays, turtles, and maybe even a humpback whale! If you’d rather go up in the sky instead of down under water, try an adventure of parasailing.
